Full Episode Snowed In

Bertram is going to be all alone for Christmas like how he has been for every other Christmas. When the other little engines hear about this, they decide to have him join their Christmas celebrations, but when a snow storm hits and the quarry is snowed in, will that stop the heroic engines?

In the last post about winter episodes I explained how I used potato flakes, well when it came time to film the narrow gauge sets, I had gotten a little bit wiser. I found the layout snow that is sold almost anywhere during Christmas time and I used it instead. It was much easier to use, but had to be placed a certain way. The nice thing was that I had carefully planned which locations would be snowy, so instead of 20+ in season 1, I only had 3 in season 2.

Full Episode The Old Warrior

This week on the Island of Sodor, Bertram the Old Warrior, who was found by Toby in the Season 5 episode "Toby's Discovery" has returned from being restored and is going to run the newly restored quarry with the other little engines. Duncan is feeling a little jealous and decides to pull a prank on Bertram. Will Duncan be able to humble the old warrior?

I can still remember the day when I was at my local Walmart and I saw a picture of TrackMaster Bertram on the back of a box. I was so ecstatic! I had been collecting Tomy/TrackMaster trains since I was 2 and I never would've thought that they would make Bertram and Duke. When I saw him I knew that I had to put him in my series.

But putting Bertram in my series was somewhat of a problem. I had decided that my show would take place after season 4 of the TV series, but Bertram doesn't appear until season 5. So I decided to mix things up a bit. I would include season 5 as if it happened between the first and second seasons of my show. This was great because it would allow me to also add Arry and Bert; and a few other characters.

Past season 5 is when everything started changing to eventually become the New Series, which was far too different from the original Thomas & Friends that I grew up with. So I can surely promise all of you that no characters past Season 5 will appear in my series. Sorry no Emily. I've gotten many complaints about not including her.

Sights of Sodor - Restored Quarry

This week on the Island of Sodor, we journey up the line to see Bertram the Old Warrior at work! Watch Bertram shunt a train for Sir Handel by checking out the latest video!

Truth is I didn't even try to replicate the mine. I had fun making it my own original location.

I originally never planned to use any characters after season 4 of the TV series in my show, but when I saw Bertram was made for TrackMaster I knew that there was so much potential with his character that I decided to include him and the other season 5 characters. Bertram was a character that only appeared in 1 episode in season 5 of the TV series and has so much potential because he was never explored. So in my series, the quarry that he worked at has been restored and is up and running again like a normal quarry with Bertram running the whole show with the help of the other narrow gauge engines.
